Editorial policy
Useful, original, and checkable.
Our standard is simple: a guide should help a reader complete one real task and show enough evidence to judge the advice.
How topics are chosen
We choose recurring points of friction in everyday Korea, especially those caused by an unfamiliar screen, label, sequence, or local requirement. A topic must have a clear reader outcome. We avoid publishing pages solely because a keyword appears popular.
How a guide is built
- Define the exact task and where the reader may get stuck.
- Check first-party or public sources for changing facts.
- Translate only the Korean terms that affect the decision.
- Write the normal flow, exceptions, and a safe fallback.
- Review links, claims, dates, and the guide's internal logic.
We do not copy a service's help page and rewrite it sentence by sentence. A MeKorean guide adds task structure, comparisons, warning points, language cues, and practical context created for this site.
Sources and attribution
Government agencies, official operators, and a service's own documentation are preferred for schedules, eligibility, product behavior, and rules. Sources are linked at the end of each guide. We may consult additional material while researching, but a source is not listed as support unless it actually informs the published claim.
Dates and updates
Each field guide displays a reviewed date. A reviewed date means the article, its links, and its time-sensitive statements were checked; it is not a promise that every third-party screen will remain identical. Material corrections update the reviewed date. Minor copy edits may not.
Commercial influence
Editorial inclusion is not sold. Advertising, if activated, is kept separate from guide selection and conclusions. Paid placement, affiliate links, supplied access, or a material relationship will be disclosed clearly on the affected page.
Corrections
We correct confirmed errors promptly and prefer specific evidence over silent edits. The process and contact details are on our Sources & corrections page.
