The normal flow

- Save the booking reference and ticket offline.
- Arrive with time to find the correct departure board and platform.
- Match departure time and train number before boarding.
- Use 호차 for car and 좌석 for seat after boarding.

Cities can have more than one rail station, and stations with similar names can serve different lines. Treat the station name as part of the booking—not as a detail to solve after reaching the city.
Book the right station pair
Begin from an official operator site or a visitor booking option listed by Korea Tourism Organization. Confirm whether the service is KTX, SRT, AREX, or another rail type and whether the chosen station is actually convenient for your route. Seoul, Yongsan, Cheongnyangni, and other stations serve different patterns.
Before payment, compare date, departure time, station pair, passenger count, and any seat class. A city name in an itinerary does not guarantee that every train uses the same station. Save the confirmation and ticket offline in case connectivity is weak inside the station.
Read the live departure board
At the station, find 출발 for departures. Match the scheduled time and 열차번호, then read 타는 곳 for the platform. Destination alone is not enough because another train can leave for the same city close in time. The platform may be posted or changed after you arrive.
Boarding can begin only shortly before departure. Follow the platform signs and position yourself near the marker for your 호차. Do not board a train just because it is on the expected track; compare the train number on the carriage or platform display.
Find the car and seat, then keep the ticket
호차 is the car number and 좌석 is the seat. Find the correct car first, then the seat row. If someone occupies the seat, show the ticket and compare train, date, car, and seat together; one of those details is often different.
Keep the ticket until the journey is complete and use the operator's official process for changes or refunds. Third-party booking rules can differ. If a train is missed or disrupted, ask at the staffed ticket office rather than buying a second ticket before understanding the first ticket's status.
