The normal flow
- Open booking from the restaurant's current official profile or website.
- Confirm that the service accepts an overseas number and payment method.
- Check branch, date, time, party size, deposit, and cancellation terms.
- Save the Korean restaurant name and reservation confirmation offline.
- Arrive early and keep a walk-in alternative nearby.
Terms to recognize
| Korean | Meaning | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| 예약 | Reservation | The general booking action |
| 예약금 | Reservation deposit | Read refund and deduction terms |
| 인원 | Party size | Adults and children may be separate |
| 예약확정 | Reservation confirmed | Stronger than a request received |
| 취소 | Cancel | Can trigger a fee after the deadline |
| 대기 | Waitlist | Not a confirmed table |
A translated screen is not the same as a global booking product. The important test is whether your phone number, payment method, notifications, cancellation, and refund can all complete through the same supported flow.
Begin from the restaurant, not a random listing
Find the restaurant's current official website or verified profile and follow its reservation link. This reduces the risk of booking a similarly named branch or an old third-party page. If the restaurant offers Catchtable Global or another visitor flow, use that path directly rather than translating the Korean member service.
Match the Korean branch name and road address. Chains, hotel restaurants, and chef brands can have several locations with different menus and cancellation terms. Save the Korean listing alongside the booking confirmation.
Read the commitment before paying
예약금 is a reservation deposit. Check whether it is refunded, deducted from the final bill, or retained after a cancellation deadline. Read the time zone, date, party size, and any separate count for children. A request-received screen is not final unless the service says 예약확정 or sends a confirmed booking.
Use a payment method that the booking product explicitly accepts. Save the cancellation path before closing the page. If the service cannot send notifications to your number, provide an email only where the official form supports it and check messages on the day of the reservation.
Plan for a closed domestic flow
Some restaurants accept only a domestic platform that requires Korean mobile identity. Do not use someone else's account unless that person is genuinely managing the reservation and understands the deposit and cancellation responsibility. Ask the restaurant whether it accepts phone, email, hotel-concierge, or walk-in reservations.
When no supported reservation exists, choose a clear fallback. Arrive before peak service, use an official waitlist if it accepts your contact method, or select a nearby restaurant with visitor booking. A waitlist entry marked 대기 is not a guarantee, so do not build a time-sensitive itinerary around it.
