The normal flow

  1. Copy the original Korean place name from the official page or booking.
  2. Try the phone number when romanized names return weak results.
  3. Compare category, district, address, and map pin.
  4. Save the Korean listing and a screenshot of the destination details.
  5. Recheck live hours and notices on the day of the visit.

Field note

Businesses can share English names, and romanization is not always consistent. A phone number is often the cleanest bridge between an overseas booking page and the correct Korean map listing.

Build a strong search key

Start with the Korean business name rather than translating the English name back into Hangul yourself. Copy it from the business's official social profile, booking confirmation, or Korean website. Include a neighborhood or city only when the name is common. A search such as the place name plus 홍대 or 부산 can separate branches.

If the name fails, paste the destination phone number without extra words. Phone numbers are strong identifiers in Korean business databases. A full road-name address is the next fallback. Avoid searching only a building name unless the destination is the building itself.

Confirm the result, not just the name

Open the listing and compare four things: business category, district, street address, and the map pin. A restaurant and a company office can share a brand name. A chain can have several branches near one station. Check storefront photos only as supporting evidence because renovations and uploaded images can be old.

Hours deserve a separate check. 영업시간 is the listed schedule, 브레이크타임 is a break between service periods, 라스트오더 is last order, and 휴무일 is a closing day. A temporary notice near the top of the listing can override the weekly schedule.

Save enough information for the street

Save the Korean listing in the app, but also capture the Korean name, address, phone number, and nearest exit in a note or screenshot. A live data connection can fail inside a station or basement. The final approach is easier when you can compare the storefront Hangul with the saved name.

Before following a route, check whether it is walking, transit, driving, or cycling. Korean map apps expose several route modes and the first tab is not always the one you want. For a taxi, show the Korean listing and pin to the driver before departure instead of reading a romanized name aloud.
